The University of South Alabama Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center will host the 16th annual Sickle Cell Regional Conference on Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on USA’s main campus at the Student Center Terrace.
The conference, “Practical Issues XVI, Pain: Pilot or Passenger?” features nationally and locally recognized experts in medicine, nursing and allied health. Dr. David Axelrod, director of the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, will present the keynote lecture titled “Inpatient Pain Management in Sickle Cell Disease.”
The conference is devoted to educating health care professionals on the modern aspects of sickle cell disease treatment, complications and psychosocial issues. Registration fees cover conference syllabi, continental breakfast and a box lunch.
