March 3 DSS to Feature Dr. David P. AuCoin

Next week's Distinguished Scientist Seminar at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine will feature Dr. David P. AuCoin, associate professor of molecular microbiology and immunology at the University of Nevada in Reno, Nev.

The lecture, titled "Development of Antibody-Based Diagnostics and Therapeutics for Melioidosis," will take place Mar. 3, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the first floor auditorium of the Medical Sciences Building on USA’s main campus.

Dr. AuCoin earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass., followed by a master’s degree and Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from the University of Nevada. From 2003-2005, Dr. AuCoin completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University in Stanford, Calif.

The primary focus of Dr. AuCoin’s laboratory is to develop diagnostics and therapeutics for infectious diseases. Click here to learn more about Dr. AuCoin.
