Mark Your Calendar: 5th Annual GO RUN for Women's Cancer

The 5th Annual GO RUN (5K and 1 Mile fun run/walk) for gynecologic cancer research at the University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Institute will be held Sept. 15, 2012, at 8 a.m. on USA's main campus - Mitchell Center Lawn/Moulton Tower. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.

The event generates funding for an endowment for research in women's cancer, including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer and cervical cancer.
The morning will consist of free food, music, kids zone, and vendors. Performance shirts will be given to all participants, and youth shirts will also be available.

The GO RUN will have a team component. A team consists of six or more registered people in any combination of runners, walkers, kids and adults, who join together to run/walk for GYN cancer awareness and research. Some teams walk in honor of someone battling cancer, to support a survivor, or in memory of a loved one who lost their battle.

Teams can also be formed by co-workers, friends/family or students who want to come together to support a great cause.

Awards will be given for:

-Tillye Semple Spirit Award - Most Spirited Team
- Largest Corporate Team
- Largest Friends and Family Team
- Largest School Team
- Largest College/University Team
- Largest Greek Team
- Most Spirited Greek Team
- Best Team Shirt
- Best Dressed (Show your team spirit with funky outfits)
