Next week's Distinguished Scientist Seminar at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine will feature Dr. Kevin Macaluso, professor of pathobiological sciences at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.
The lecture, titled “Unraveling the Biology of Emerging Rickettsial Pathogens," will take place April 21, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the first floor auditorium of the Medical Sciences Building on USA’s main campus.
Dr. Macaluso earned his master's degree in biology from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, and his Ph.D. in entomology from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla. He completed a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellowship in the department of microbiology and immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md.
