Dr. Paola Maurtua-Neumann was recently appointed assistant professor of pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine.
She received her bachelor’s degree and medical degree from the University of Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru.
Dr. Maurtua-Neumann completed her pediatric residency at New York State University at Buffalo. In addition, she completed the Dauphinot D. Piper International Medicine & Health Fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Tulane University in New Orleans.
From 2000 to 2006, she served as program coordinator and research assistant for international health at John Hopkins School of Public Health.
Dr. Maurtua-Neumann is certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates by passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination.
