USA Alumna Wins Young Investigator Award

Dr. Judy Creighton, University of South Alabama College of Medicine alumna, recently won the young investigator award from the respiratory section of the American Physiological Society. She received her Ph.D. in pharmacology from USA and studied with Dr. Troy Stevens at the USA Center for Lung Biology.

Dr. Creighton’s current work is on AMP kinase, an enzyme that mediates all of the cardiovascular benefits of exercise. Now at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, her research is funded by the National Institutes of Health.
