Three members of the neurology department at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine were recently featured at the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN) in Las Vegas.
Dr. Steve M. Cordina, assistant professor of neurology and director of the USA Stroke Program, presented a seminar titled “Neurovascular Interventions for Cerebrovascular Emergencies: See it and Fix it.” Dr. Cordina’s seminar included information on interventional stroke treatment and other vascular diseases.
Pediatric neurologist Dr. Paul Maertens also delivered a seminar at the meeting. During his talk, titled “The Neonatal Brain in the 21st Century: MRI and Ultrasound,” he discussed the limitations and advantages of neuroimaging techniques commonly used on neonates.
In addition, Dr. Eric Grover, a third-year neurology resident at USA, attended the ASN Presidential Address and Awards Luncheon where he was presented with a plaque.
Dr. Grover’s recognition was based on the quality of his submitted abstract, “Gestational Age May Predict Rate of Corpus Callosum Growth: a Prospective Neuro-sonographic Study.”
